Who we are
Why we exist
Every major casino review site runs on affiliate commissions. That’s not a secret — it’s the industry. The problem: when operators pay you per referral, your rankings stop being about player experience and start being about who pays the best rates. The reader loses.
MonsterBetList is our attempt at something different. We run zero affiliate programs. No operator pays us a cent, and no operator ever will. The site is privately funded by its founders, supplemented by display advertising on non-review pages where operator money is never involved. That structure keeps our editorial team fully independent of the businesses we cover.
What we do
We test online casinos the way a journalist tests a product — with our own money, on our own time, under real conditions. Every review starts with a 30-day evaluation covering:
- Licensing verification — we check every license number against the regulator’s public database
- Deposit + withdrawal flow — across cards, e-wallets, bank transfers, and crypto where supported
- Bonus terms — we read the complete T&Cs and flag predatory clauses (max-cashout caps, hidden wagering, unfair “void winnings” language)
- Game quality — RTP claims cross-checked against documented values from the game providers
- Support response — we contact live chat and email with real questions and measure how well they answer
- Account verification (KYC) — how long it takes and what documentation the casino demands
If any stage fails, the casino doesn’t make our rankings — no matter how attractive the welcome offer looks.
The team
MonsterBetList is produced by a distributed editorial team covering European and international markets. Collectively we have over 15 years of combined experience across regulated iGaming, consumer journalism, and technical security review. We’re independent contributors, not operator employees, and none of us hold financial stakes in the casinos we cover.
What we don’t do
- We don’t run affiliate links. If you see a link to a casino on our site, it’s an editorial citation, not a promotion.
- We don’t accept payment from operators for reviews, rankings, coverage, or anything else.
- We don’t publish “sponsored content” dressed up as editorial.
- We don’t use anonymous user-generated content without editorial review. Everything we publish has a human editor’s sign-off.
How we’re funded
MonsterBetList is privately funded by its founders and supported by display advertising placed exclusively on non-review pages (our blog and guides, never our toplists or individual casino reviews). We do not accept payment from any gambling operator, affiliate network, or aggregator. That limits our revenue ceiling — and we’re fine with that, because it’s the only way to keep our rankings genuinely independent.
How our rankings work
Our toplists are scored on six weighted factors:
- Licensing & Security — 30%
- Editorial Fairness — 25%
- Payout Speed — 20%
- Game Selection — 15%
- Customer Support — 10%
- Community & Player Feedback — tiebreaker
Scores are refreshed quarterly. When a casino materially changes its terms, ownership, or license, we re-evaluate within seven days.
Play safely
Gambling carries real financial risk. MonsterBetList exists to help you pick operators that treat players fairly — not to encourage anyone to gamble. If betting ever stops feeling like entertainment, please visit our responsible gaming page for resources and support organizations.
